Our friends at Plate Magazine recently made Lonesome Rose's Watermelon Cucumber Salad the Bite of the Week! Read about the inspiration for the dish from Chef Sal and get the full recipe here. Thanks to Plate for featuring our favorite summertime salad!
We were stoked to create this #VaxToGetBack campaign with our buddies at Arts Alliance Illinois to help encourage our communities, especially those in the arts, to get vaccinated so we can all get back to safe, in-person arts events like gallery openings, concerts, plays and more. More info on the campaign is available here. Big thanks to our partners at Arts Alliance Illinois for working with us!
Parson's Chicken and Fish is now open in Andersonville! It's our fourth location here in Chicago. Located at 5721 N Clark St. (at the corner of Clark and Edgewater), the newest Parson's has an indoor dining room, a bar area with seating, and a huge patio, complete with an outdoor shipping container bar in a nod to the OG Logan Square Parson's. The indoor space has big, functional windows in each space to keep the fresh air flowing. Come check it out! Open daily from 11a-11p, walk-in seating only.
After Parson's had a weird pandemic birthday last year (just like the rest of us), we're ready to party (safely) for EIGHT. From 2-5pm, head to any Parson's Chicago location (West Town, Lincoln Park, or the OG Logan Square) for $8 Negroni slushies and $1 Jim Beam Highballs. You read that right — our party is your party and we're so happy we can party together on the patio to kick off another year of Parson's. See you then; grab your reservations on Resy!
Our friends at Lost Lake are bringing their buddies from Blue Giant in New Orleans to our Logan Square patio this Sunday for a big, old fashioned crawfish boil! Chef Fred Noinaj is bringing all the fixings, plus chilled sesame noodle Salad, his grilled Thai sausages, and more — plus plenty of frozen Tic-Tac-Taxis and cold Parson’s beers to go around. This event is sold out, but stay tuned to @parsonschicken for any updates on cancellations!
May is for our neighbors! Everyone with a 606 zip code can book an Inn room for $50 for the rest of the month. Reservations will open at 10am on Monday morning for that week, on longmanandeagle.com. Get out of the house and give one of our beds a try!
Parson's Chicken and Fish is now open in West Town! Located at 2109 W. Chicago Avenue, this is Parson's third Chicago location (alongside Lincoln Park and Logan Square). The new Parson's features a patio (of course!), a large, central bar, arcade games, and even a private event space, plus all your Parson's favorites. The space is beautiful (there's a fireplace!), and was lovingly built by our very own team during the past year — and it shows. Come by and see us soon! We're open and taking reservations and walk-ins from 11a-11p daily.

Lost Lake won "Best To-Go Cocktails" from the Chicago Tribune's Readers' Choice Awards! This means a lot — Chicago has had a lot of options for to-go drinks in the past year. If you've been craving some Lost Lake in your life, head to their to-go window between 4-8p Wednesday through Friday and 2-8p Saturday and Sunday...or join the Cocktail Club!
We stand in solidarity with the Asian American and Pacific Islander community who have endured countless attacks in the past year. We’re teaming up with restaurants across the country on the #doughsomething fundraising campaign to support Asian Americans Advancing Justice, an affiliation of leading organizations that advocate for the civil and human rights of Asian Americans and other underserved communities to promote a fair and equitable society for all.
Here are ways you can #doughsomething to fight anti-Asian hate:
- Make a donation to the #doughsomething campaign at bit.ly/doughsomething
- Order a pretzel from Longman & Eagle, empanadas from Lonesome Rose, or a Jumbo Negroni from Parson's — proceeds will benefit Asian Americans Advancing Justice
- Attend a bystander intervention training to learn how to de-escalate situations of harassment if you witness it. Go to advancingjustice-chicago.org/antihate to learn more!

We're excited to launch the Longman Staff Sweatshirts! Every dollar from the sale of these zip-up hoodies will go to support the staff that was furloughed when we closed for winter. Plus, they were designed by Chicago-based artist Louie Capozolli - so you'll look slick while you're supporting your favorite whiskey bar (that misses you a whole bunch). We've got a limited number available this run, so get yours before they're gone! (available for pickup by ordering frm the L&E website at the “order pick up” button).
We're excited to partner with Gordon Food Service to bring 200 holiday meal kits for families of four to furloughed and unemployed restaurant workers in Chicago. On Monday, December 21 at Parson's Logan Square, we'll be giving out 200 half roast chickens and produce boxes, with carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, celery, and clementines, to ensure families can enjoy a hearty meal this holiday season. Monday, 12/21, 12-4p; first come, first served. Thank you, Gordon Food Service!
